Rheology Laboratory
LabReo

Activities
LabReo focuses on the mechanical characterization of materials that exhibit behavior between that of solids and liquids, with applications in the food, cosmetics, mining, petrochemical, and cement industries, among others. The laboratory conducts detailed rheological studies to understand the deformation and flow properties of these materials. It maintains strategic collaborations with national and international companies and universities to advance research in rheology and non-Newtonian fluids.
Installations
LabReo is equipped with four high-precision rotational rheometers, pressure cells operating up to 700 bar, and temperature control systems for samples up to 120°C. It also features microcalorimeters for detailed thermal measurements, two syringe pumps for high-pressure testing, and a complete infrastructure for proper sample preparation. These resources enable sophisticated experiments under various conditions, meeting diverse academic and industrial demands for viscoelastic analysis, viscosity, and thermal response.
